VIDEO!
So Miles' new thing to do is to squeal! I can't describe it, so here are a few videos I took of him. He is playing on his activity mat, and as you'll see in the video... He's having too much fun! Enjoy!
Oh, on this second video you can hear Brent talking to Miles. He is telling him what shows he has recorded for them on the DVR. Thanks to ATT U-Verse we won't miss any outdoor shows (#handtohead)!!! :)

3 months!
Miles is the sweetest most adorable little drooler I've ever seen. He is drooling constantly these days. His hands stay in his mouth, and anything around him goes straight to his mouth! Wiser mothers around me tell me he could be teething. I have no idea to tell you the truth. He is happy baby, I can tell you that!
For a little while he was spitting up a good bit. Brent and I were getting concerned b/c it seemed like it was more and more often. Brent called Jennifer, our nurse, and she said to put cereal in all of his bottles. So we started doing that. It worked, and Miles has been eating a lot less often.
A few things about Miles to note (so that I won't forget later down the road!)
* Miles loves drinking his bottle. He screams when it is empty (even though he's had plenty!) And, is fine right after he throws his fit!
*He does not do a pacifier. I can get him to suck on one when he is fighting sleep, then he spits it out. It's fine though, I really don't want to fight that battle later!
*He is very ticklish, but we're keeping the tricks between mommy and daddy right now!
*He LOVES watching TV. He will sit in his swing and laugh at commercials. I did that when I was little. I love that I can see that he is part of me, and does things that his mama did/does!
*Loves his daddy's voice! He will turn his head to find his daddy when he talks :)
* When Brent and I are having serious conversation, Miles will bust out with a giggle. He loves watching people talk!
*Miles will let anyone hold him, but after a few passes, he's sick and tired of being passed. He is not a baby that likes being held all the time!
*Oh, and he does NOT like to be woken up! He wants to wake up on his own. In the nursery Sunday the other babies in there started screaming and it made him so mad! He is grumpy like his mama if he doesn't wake up on his own terms :)
*He talks all the time! I don't understand one word of it! I can't wait until I can understand him. I know he'll be a good storyteller just like his daddy!

Beach in Review
I'm getting so far behind on my blog. My life has been a blur lately. I'm blogging from work today. I need to be at home doing this so I can put pictures up. I have a few here so the picture portion of my blog will be few today!
Our trip to the beach was short, but fun! It was nice to get to be away from Batesville. We took Miles to the pool. It was like bath water it was so warm. Once we got him in there and used to the water he kicked his feet so hard. We put 55 sunscreen on him along with his Ole Miss cap! Lulu bought him a baby float, which to my surprise, he was still a little bit too small for. We walked down to the ocean one evening. Miles loved the sound of the ocean. He's used to hearing it on his Graco sound box, but not live! We tried to put his feet in the water, but it just made him MAD! The water was too cold and he didn't appreciate the gesture, ha! We tried to take him to the beach during the day. Our child loves to be outside, the hotter the better. You'd really have to see it to believe it. But, he loved being outside at the beach, but he was tired and couldn't get comfortable laying on the towel over the sand. So that was a short trip to the beach, no big deal!
Coming home we stopped in to see my family that didn't go to the beach. They were excited to see how much Miles had grown. We didn't get too far from Jackson before we hit a severe rain/hail storm. Our vehicle hydroplaned, Brent lost control of our car, and we did a fishtail, spin, and crashed into some trees down the gully from the interstate. It was the scariest thing I've been a part of in a while. Brent and I are both haunted by images from that day, as we see that tree over and over again. We got to see God's grace in its full glory that day. After we crashed we turned around to check on Miles and he was fast asleep. He stayed asleep until my parents made it to us. When he woke up he was happy and giggling. It was exactly what we needed at that time. Needless to say, our car was a total loss. For the past 2 weeks we have been without a 2nd vehicle.
Well, that is our 4th of July in a nutshell!

Kerry's Baby Shower
So my friend Kerry is working on baby #2... A boy, with no name at the present! We threw her a "sprinkle" shower being that this is her second boy! She wanted necessities and she got them in abundance! I don't think she'll buy a diaper before he is potty trained!!! :) A good problem to have if you ask me. Anyway, when we were planning her "sprinkle" I told her sister I'd find someone to do the cake... Well, as luck has it... the cakes were overpriced or the cake maker was overbooked. So I decided I would try my hand at the cake making thing. I used a boxed cake, but the decorations I did myself (homemade fondant!) Here are a few pictures.

Week 12
I'm writing this week a little early b/c we are beach bound when I get off work today! This will be Miles' first trip to the beach. I am very excited to get to make these memories with family. Miles' first vacation and he gets to go to the Gosselin Getaway House in Gulf Shores! We are going to stop in Jackson and pick up Sexy Memaw and then make the rest of the trek. I am really optimistic. I think Miles is going to be just fine, and now I may be in for a rude awakening. (Pray it will go well!) I'm just racking my brain about the packing situation, not sure I'm ready for an away trip for this length of time. I'm probably going to pack way too much. Either way I'm about to get this first roadtrip under my belt. Next time, I'll know!
Miles this week. Lots of giggling! When he giggles Brent and I just laugh. He steals our hearts and attention with that sweet little noise! Not much has changed in the way of growth. He is still sleeping like a Champ. We are going to transition him from the bassinet to his crib toward the end of July. That way we'll be in a good new routine for Brent and I to both be back at work at the same time. August will be the first time we've both had to be back at work in a normal routine (other than a few staff development days, which don't count b/c they started at 8:30.) His development is so good. He'll put weight on his feet, and holds his head up really good. He has headbutted me in the face a good bit, last time I thought he busted my lip! ha!

That way we'll be in a good new routine for Brent and I to both be back at work at the same time. August will be the first time we've both had to be back at work in a normal routine (other than a few staff development days, which don't count b/c they started at 8:30.) His development is so good. He'll put weight on his feet, and holds his head up really good. He has headbutted me in the face a good bit, last time I thought he busted my lip! ha!

Week 11
What can I tell you new that happened this week? Miles is the sweetest little chatterbox EVER! He smiles, coos, goos, and GIGGLES! His giggle is the sweetest thing! Every night this week, minus one, he has slept from 10:00 p.m. and been awakened by our morning alarm clock! I have to brag. I don't know how long it will last, but after a week... I'm spoiled, and convinced that our baby is going to be a sleeper like his mama! The one night he got up we fed him and instantly he was back to dreamland. Our little man found his tounge which led to lots of drool, yay! Now he has found his hands and loves putting them in his mouth. Drool + hands in mouth = lots and lots of bibs and face wiping!
Miles still LOVES bathtime. He is growing so much. Outfits that are 0-3 are working their way out of his clothing rotation, and are slowly being replaced by outfits of 3-6 months (which some are still a bit too big!) I think I told you in the last post that we are using size 2 diapers.
I'm very blessed to have a hands-on daddy! He is absolutely the best. I can't wait to tell Miles how blessed he is to have such a good daddy. Brent is very involved about decision made with Miles.
