11 days and counting...

Had another doctor's visit yesterday! Found out that I am another cm dilated. So now I'm at 3-3.5 cm. Pretty good news! Originally our dr. told us that he would induce us on April 13 as to avoid us going past "term." Yesterday he bumped the date up to April 11. That makes my sister very happy. She loves dates and has been rooting for 4-11-11 the whole pregnancy! So if he holds tight then we start the countdown at 11 days to go! I'm really hoping he comes sooner! But, I'll take a week and 4 days :) Miles is weighing in at approximately 7 lbs 2 oz. The scary part is that figure is bone density, not fat. So he is likely approaching 8 lbs. and I still have 11 more days. :/ I'm already preparing my mind for a c-section. But, also keeping in mind that sonograms have a wide standard deviation. So he might be smaller than that. Only time will tell the tale!

With this baby every unexpected expense you can imagine has popped up on us! It's that time of year to pay for season football tickets, we had to pay for a plumber to flush out our main line (and were told our whole house needs to be re-piped), we have to buy 2 new tires for my vehicle, our little dog, Tank, has been sporting a tender rib cage (possible vet visit), and 2 weeks of my maternity leave are UNPAID! Hmmm! You always gotta leave God room in your life. Well, I'm pretty sure he's got plenty in ours! :) He has always provided for us, so I'm not worried.

SECRET CHURCH, coming Good Friday!

Our church is hosting this simulcast on Good Friday! I'm so excited. I wanted to go back in November, but I was nervous I couldn't make it through the whole thing pregnant, then on top of that tickets sold out in 6 minutes... so our church didn't get to send anyone :( But we're doing this free and it is going to be amazing! Week 36 update!

Well, thankfully week 36 is over halfway over. I hit 37 on Sunday! Full term! Can't wait!

We went to the doctor yesterday. He checked us for dilation... the good news! I am already dilated 2-2.5 cm. I'm a little oblivious to what all the pregnancy things mean, but he said it was really good. My favorite part was he said if I went in the morning to be induced I'd have a baby that afternoon! That sounds like music to my ears. Although, after telling this to some of my friends, none of them think I'll make it very long! I PRAY they are right. I'm so ready to have this little baby in our arms. I'm miserable, I can't lie. My poor feet stay swollen, and I've got the worst sinus infection (I KNOW it will all be worth it). I feel so lethargic most of the time. I'm trying to make it past Saturday... which is our annual Charity Ball fundraiser for Junior Auxiliary. I think I'm in for a long night! Being the treasurer is already demanding enough without being SOOOOO pregnant! Wish me luck and send up some prayers for me! :)

We had another shower this past Sunday! It was thrown for us by the Sunday School class that we would be in if we didn't teach. They were so generous to us! We already sent out 35 or more thank you notes for that shower! I think... We are just writing thank you notes as gifts trickle in at this point. Thank God for a husband who doesn't mind jumping in and helping out. He's been amazing. Otherwise, some of you would STILL be waiting for your thank you notes!

Baby Shower #4 and More

On Tuesday, we had our 4th shower! This one was really fun for me. I got to sit back and watch Brent open all the gifts!! He was so much fun. A much better gift opener than I am, as he is way more animated! Besides, these were his co-workers! So I'm sure they enjoyed watching him open the gifts as much as I did. We really racked up with diapers, wipes, gift cards, etc. And, thankfully Brent has already written half of the thank you cards! I'm telling you... I have the best husband! I don't have any pictures from this shower to post. I know some were taken. I just don't have them.

Yesterday, we had another doctor visit. Everything with Miles is still looking good. The insulin is managing my sugar like it is supposed to and Miles is still growing right along that 50th percentile mark. He was 5 lbs and 15 oz. And, his head had already dropped more since last week. It's looking like our little man might be visiting us sooner than later. I cannot tell you how very excited Brent and I are to get him here and to hold him in our arms!!!

I'm sure I could go on about something else, but I'll spare you today. I have work to do!

Other Updates...

* 34 weeks! 5 weeks to go!

* We have shower #4 tomorrow! This is a shower being thrown for Brent and I by the staff at the high school! It's so nice of his co-workers to honor us. We're very excited. I hope Brent will write the bulk of the thank you notes :) I'm sure he will, he has been so very helpful in that department!

* Wednesday we have another doctor visit! Praying for good updates from that visit. Excited to get to check up on our little man!

* Miles' Nursery is almost completely finished! We're waiting on a dresser and curtains! So when I get those finishing touches I'm going to post pictures! Special thank you to my Aunt Jackie, Aunt Renee, Lexie, and Memaw for coming up and helping me sort through it. I was very overwhelmed. They even let me sit in the recliner! My huge swollen feet got them nervous I guess! :)

* And, I bought a dress for Cory and Kim's wedding, 9-10-11! It'll be here before we know it. I'm so excited that Miles will be here by then! Gatlinburg here we come!!!!

Surprise! Baby Shower #3

Sunday morning I was pleasantly surprised when my Sunday School class threw me a baby shower! They planned it all by themselves! I love this group of 11th and 12th grade girls! They are all beautiful on the inside and out. They motivate, inspire, and encourage me to deepen my walk with Christ, and they don't even know it! Here are a few pictures!

It's getting close!

Another weekly appointment down! Hopefully only 5 more (at the most) to go! I guess Brent and I better start getting our tails in motion, sooner than later! With some down time finally in our midst, maybe we can start on that tonight. :) Our doctor appointment went well. Miles is now at 5 lbs 3 oz. which puts him right around the 48% for growth. We get to talk about amniocentesis next week. It is suggested for patients on insulin, basically to keep us from going "full term" which is where he could become still born as a result of my sugar issues. But, he is growing normal, my blood pressure is great, my weight is still lower than when I got pregnant, and the insulin is working just like it is supposed to! SO for now... I think we're going to let him come when HE gets ready :) Just be praying that things continue to go so smoothly. So far we have been very very blessed.

I don't mind being pregnant at all, but the hormones are driving me crazy! Last night I sat on the bed and cried... WHY?? I don't know. My mind was completely blank. I was not in pain, wasn't happy or sad, and I felt fine other than a headache (which I'll also blame on hormones, just because!) Talk about feeling helpless...I didn't know what to do for myself let alone what to tell Brent I needed from him in that moment.

Praise to God, our little man is moving around in my stomach as I type! Here is a picture from  yesterday that I LOVE! He has his little mouth and eyes open! Of course it makes me just grin when I see it. I can't wait to get him in my arms! Check out the shutterly link (previous post) for other pictures from yesterday!

Yaba Daba Doo

If Fred Flintstone were a real person, I'd totally be able to relate to him! My feet are always HUGE, they are swollen most of the time. I get a little reprieve when I first wake up in the morning and thats about it! I've had to stop wearning my wedding ring for fear that it would get stuck on my hand or cut off my circulation. Other than those 2 minor little things, we're scooting right along in this pregnancy! Thanks to my parents for buying a rocking recliner for Miles' nursery... I now have an alternative during those seemingly sleepless nights.

We go back to the doctor tomorrow. I'm praying for a good report. I love dr appointment days when we get to see our little man!!! 6.5 weeks seems so long... But, at the same time it seems like I just read that positive pregnancy test yesterday! I'll be sure to post about the dr appointment Thursday.

In the meanwhile, we'll be writing thank you notes, washing baby clothes, and praising God for the grace that he has shown us by giving us a son!
