10 weeks!

This week Brent put on an Upward Basketball Camp at the church... so Lexie (LuLu) came to town to help us out! Lu and Miles had so much fun :) They attempted an art project, but Miles was much too uncooperative! She wanted to do a handprint for Brent's a father's day card. She got his hand carefully painted blue, then Miles balled his hand up into a fist! He thought it was funny!!! Needless to say she had fun cleaning him up!
Brent and I loved having the extra help.. we even had us a "date night!" It was very much needed. For some reason this week was hard on both of us. We were not communicating well, and Miles got his first boo boo this week, and it had us both a little on edge. It's part of marriage. It's still a balancing act for us. We're learning how to give Miles and each other attention. When he goes to sleep we're ready to snooze ourselves so sometimes it doesn't leave us much time. We're working on it, and it is going to be a continuous process. At the end of the day though, he's still the best daddy and husband in my eyes :)
We're about to transition into size 2 diapers! He is basically wearing any outfit that has a 3 on it. He has one "I heart Dad" onesie that is size NB that he can still fit in!

I'll do a separate post for Father's Day!

Here's our 1st boo boo of many I'm sure!

Pictures from our trip to Jackson for Father's Day! Love my Dad :)

Happy Father's Day Dad

Week 9

This week has been busy!!! Miles went to his very first Vacation Bible School with Daddy. He loved being with Julie in the nursery. Julie did a great job of keeping him entertained and making sure he was loved! We are excited that next week my cousin, Aunt Lu to Miles, is coming up to spend the week with us. She is going to have so much fun with him! That is one loved little boy! I can't wait for him to know how much he is loved.

Miles has had the snots and cough so bad lately. We are doing every thing we've been told and yet it seems to just be getting worse. Errr :/ Hoping this clears up. Brent and I may as well be sick...seeing our baby feel bad makes us feel horrible!

Thursday night, we had a cookout at our house. It was a sad occasion. Our close friends, the Pylates, are moving away :( This has saddened me so much! They are moving to Starkville so that Andrew can get his Master's degree from MS State. I tried to talk him into Ole Miss, but they don't have his major, and he's a bulldog down to the core! I've been teaching their daughter Andley (almost 2 years old) to say Hotty Toddy! She can't leave here without a little Rebel in her :) They are going to be so missed!

Week 8

Everyone warned me that he wouldn't stay little very long :( It is going by so fast! Before we know it the end of summer will be here, he'll be 4 months, old and Brent and I will be trying to figure out a new routine and baby food! Miles has gotten very good at responding to voices and facial expressions. It seems like it doesn't matter who is smiling at him, he's smiling back!!! It is so sweet. He LOVES animal sounds. A few times he has been fussing and I have started singing, mind you a made up, animal song and he just starts smiling and giggling! I'm hoping to capture it on video for you. He still really enjoys bathtime, and if you don't time it just right you'll make him very mad when you try to take him out! He found his tongue this week and it has been droooool fest!!!

We also went to Fairfield (Assisted Living) to visit with some of our "wiser" friends! They really enjoyed getting to hold and love on Miles! I hope he will get a firm grasp on loving the elderly and taking care of widows and widowers :)
Good sugar from Mimi Travis!

Mr. Wallace gave him his first John Deere Tractor toy!

Photo Session

After his 6 week shots, we had a photo session with Kendall. Kendall is a friend from church with a tremendous talent for photography! We were fortunate enough to be his "trial" on baby pictures! He did a wonderful job. Miles was very uncooperative so we probably wasted more of his time than anything! We didn't plan that too well having pics on the same date as his 6 week shots.

Week 7

Time is flying by and my weeks are starting to all run together. Last week was my first week back at work. I did good, I think! Since my lunch hour is at noon I was only away from him for two 4 hour periods. Brent was finishing up with school last week so Miles got to stay with Brent's grandparents last Monday morning, and they enjoyed it so much! Miles rounded out the week at South Panola with his daddy in staff development. He did okay, most of the time ;) Thursday, Lauren and Joey watched him from noon til 3:00 when we headed over for his 6 week doctor visit (details here). And, for the record the Malox and apple juice have done the trick on the constipation! Friday, Miles spent the day with Brent's parents as Brent had lots of yard work to get done for the week (his summer job!) We were both able to run out there and see him at lunch. :) Saturday, part of the Springer Crew were able to be in town for the weekend... and they got to love on Miles :) That's pretty much last week in a nutshell. Brent and I did decide to put some cereal in his bottle at night. It may be a little early, but we feel it is the best decision for OUR child. I know every child is different!  He is eating around 9 or 10 and shortly after he goes to sleep until close to 5:00. The first night we gave him cereal he slept from 10-7. I had Brent get up and make sure he was still breathing. It scared me :)
